Watson M. Seeley, 33, machine hand, died attempting to save Mary M. Knoll, 18, from drowning, Salina, New York, August 9, 1910. Seeley, fully clothed, swam to the aid of Miss Knoll, who had been upset from a canoe in the Seneca River 50 feet from the bank where the water was 12 feet deep. As he neared the woman, she threw herself upon him, and both disappeared and were drowned. 5490-450
