Wayne Ramsey rescued Shirley C. and Earl K. Langlinais from burning, Abilene, Texas, December 13, 1973. In a nighttime accident a tractor-trailer, lying on its side, caught fire; and Mrs. Langlinais, 37, was trapped in the sleeping compartment behind the cab, in which her husband, 25, was pinned by the steering wheel. Ramsey, 35, truckdriver, arrived and ran to the cab at the opposite side of the tipped-over rig from the flames on the underside. The flames increased as Ramsey pulled Mrs. Langlinais from the sleeping compartment; and while he was removing her husband from the cab, two explosions occurred. Mrs. Langlinais required hospitalization for treatment of burns she had sustained. 53794-6155
