William A. Davidson, 26, motorman (mine), helped to save John Wechselberger, 22, cage tender, from suffocation, Bonanza, Colorado, August 14, 1923. (See cases of SAMUEL M. FOWLER and WILLIAM W. SMITH.) After Fowler left the ore chute, Smith called to Davidson to come to his assistance, and Davidson was lowered into the chute on a rope. He tried to free Wechselberger and was in the chute almost two hours with him and 30 minutes longer, being pulled out on a rope just before Smith. 23749-2043
