William H. A. Missett, 11, schoolboy, saved Frank L. Cook, 19, from drowning, Springfield, Massachusetts, August 7, 1906. Cook, who was a poor swimmer, gave out while attempting to swim to a raft moored in deep water, and he was left to his fate by two companions, who had been swimming by his side. William, although weighing less than half as much as Cook, went to his assistance and swam 10 feet with him to the raft. 1834-128
