William H. Eaton, 45, clerk, died saving John Schock, 12, and George C. Maloney, 11, from drowning, New York, New York, September 21, 1907. Eaton jumped from a dock into the East River and, grabbing both boys, who were bathing and struggling together, swam with them to the bulkhead, where they were pulled out of the water by others with a rope. Eaton was exhausted and went down before assistance could be given him. 1930-166
