The Heroic Age

In June 2018, the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission celebrated the awarding of the Carnegie Medal to its 10,000th and 10,001st heroes at a gala held in Pittsburgh. Carnegie heroes Vickie Tillman and Jimmy Rhodes received the Carnegie Medal at the event themed the Power of One. The Heroic Age commemorates the event, while giving the history of the commission and the heroes its recognized throughout the last 114 years. The Carnegie Medal is given to those who risk their lives to an extraordinary degree in saving or attempting to save the lives of others.
